>>well its time for me to pack up and go. If you wanna check my new blog out go to http://www.tylermedina.wordpress.com please and thank you!
>> Here’s a quick thought… Public Schools always celebrate a little thing called “red ribbon week.” Well, since my elementary days I have took part in this ritual and as I look back I don’t think it has done much good (if any at all). I say instead of trying to cover up where we have missed helping students with drugs and alcohol, why don’t we get to the source of what’s making them do that stuff? I have the opportunity to deal with some of the ”problem students” if you will every morning during my first block and today I heard a girl say, “I dont care” as in she didn’t care about smoking and getting caught. And it got to me. So as a leader I hope that when we have >>refuel, I want to get to the source of those struggling with these addictions and let them know that Jesus can help them. Not another poster with some lame slogan like “hugs not drugs.”
>>Just got finished reading this amazing book (thanks to my youth.pastor) titled: Deadly Viper Character Assassins and this book deals with just that; those things that can steal your character and integrity. This book is totally about the importance of character in leadership and how to watch out and defend against the "assassins" of character. There are seven assassins that can effect your leadership and character... Here is a taste as paraphrased by me. I will give you two of the seven deadly assasins that just might "slit your throat and not bat an eye."
>> Deadly Assassin: Boom Chicka Waa waa- this assassin deals with lust and actually its title "boom chicka waa waa." Everything from staring at that young intern in the short miniskirt, to having that conversation with too many inuendos with the co-worker. If you aren't careful you just might be struck down by this deadly assassin known as "boom chicka waa waa."
>>Deadly Assassin: High and Mighty- this assasin can easily move through the shadows of your ego like the swift sound of the wind. This assassin attacks its prey by using techniques such as: pride and vanity. In its wakes, it leaves nothing but degradation, demorilization, and a loss of trust from friends and co workers. Anyone can be toppled by this assassin and with a new promotion or even accomplishment, you can be open this assassin's lethal whim.
I highly recommend this for anyone in leadership, aspiring to be in leadership, or if you fall under the category of "human." This book is great and everytime I would read a chapter I couldn't put it down. *btw Catalyst bought a copy for every person who attended their conference so it must be good*
>> Personally I have had a great fall break. Spent just about every day at the church ( which was awesome) and got a lot of things accomplished. But now the break is over and I cant wait to start back to the things I love (i.e.) prayer meeting, worship, FCA, all those things that make me enjoy school. Although I struggle with senioritis (a disease in which any senior in highschool is consumed with the only thought of leaving their four year prison term in school) I still can't neglect one of my mission fields. Look to see some great things posted here about what's happening there. I also feel that one new thing we should talk about in our school for awhile is this, "Highschoolers can live for God." I'm not all to sure about the whole subject, but I sure am excited to see what God is going to do. Thank God for the refreshing of this week. Thank God for those that He uses to refresh me also.
>>Well today is starts a wonderful week. Yes full of some work, but today I am taking a day of rest. I dont have a real plan for today but I have to work for two hours and that is the only certain thing I have to do today. I just cant wait to just sit and read. I am truly thanking God for today.. I really didnt get up until 12:30! Even as a teenager I havent done that in who knows how long. Also, had this thought. Some people dread monday mornings. Even Christians (surprise?) but before I was a christian I would have bad mondays simply because it was monday and I would make it that way. I would always say "its monday so it is going to be bad." and that was my logic. But I thought last night, what would happen if we looked at our bad/worst days right when we wake up or go outside and say "look at God's beauty; the sky, the trees, the everything. Simply living." The simple things like nature and such are created by God, and are beautiful and as fast paced humans we seem to miss it a lot (or atleast I do). I know it sounds kinda 70's or whatever, but when we take in God's greatness and beauty on our seemingly worst days, I think that can always make the worst of days better.
>>Psalms 118:24
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
>cant remember if I used this title before... but let's see.. First of all THANK GOD FOR FALL BREAK! It is the first day of my weekend to fall break and I honestly can't wait to do....ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! These past two weeks of my life have been full of work, home work, and sadly a death. But through all my stress and actual sickness these past two weeks God has helped me through it. Prayer is going good and we are getting ready to vamp up on our friday worship services now called "refuel." Also, "Fusion" will be happenening hopefully twice this year, and the first one should be in mid December. *Last year we saw 60 students there!* Also, my youth pastor is currently at the leadership conference: Catalyst. If you dont know what that is you definitly need to search it up. It will cahnge your views, and challenge the way you believe and just live...This is another one of those not so exciting entires, but once again its just the day/week in the life a a young >>revolutionary. I'm just excited to be able to sit down, and recharge mentally, physically, and spiritually. My youthpastor said something that inspired me to just sit down and enjoy a sabath. Its easy to for a creator to create all the time, but sometimes you have to stop creating, and just take some time to be creative and refuel (excuse the cliche please)
>>now what...
>>nothing. :)
>>well thank God some of the insanity is over (AP ENGLISH) but See You At the Pole was wodnerful at central, we had about 75 students or so. I have never seen so many different people and teachers included just worshipping and listening intently to God's word. We have had this one teacher lead it for eyars now but finally it was done by students (its original intention) but I find that SYATP has soemtimes turned in a rally just to tell kids how much they need to keep doing stuff like that. Kinda like, "This is good you are here to day, but you guys need to do it more often." The statement "God has called you to be the salt of the earth" was spoken and one person just told how much we arent who we need to be. As I look back, the opportunity of soemthing like SYATP is the prime opportunity to tell someone how much God loves them for who they are, and wants to change thier lives. Not the opportunity to tell everyone how they arent good ennough and doing it wrong. I understand that the persons intentions were good, but just thinking. I will post some pics. Also the first FCA meeting went fairly well. Had lots of new people and everyone's attentionw as held good. Can't wait to see what God has in store for that. Well, here's a side note*
*reading Catalyst magazine- which is awesome.. I love learning about leadership and how to be a better follower. Expect some quotes from it soon
*im all tuckered out of reading english...the American Classics are killing me....
>>..//this is just the true life of a student revolutionary...enjoy\\>>//
>>Hola mi amigos! ( I figuered I would test out my Spanish 3 abilities there) Life is scooting on just as normal, and I have no problems with that. I'm looking ahead at this week and seeing it is already filled up with work and such, but it certainly isn't anything to stress about. Last night's service was amazing. The church was just caught up in a spirit of worship. I caught to see many people step out in faith in worship last night and it was just beautiful.. It is the way church should be. People just lost in the worship of their Creator. On the other hand we are gearing up for a new series in our youth group titled "How not to get caught." Which is about temptation. Also, Central High is gearing up for its largest See You at the Pole ever! We expect more people than ever there this weds! Also, our first FCA meeting of the year is tomorrow and I am excited about seeing fresh faces, and having another opportunity to students changed by God. So, many things going on. Encumbersome? Yes. Exciting? Oh yea. But when life seems to just be "going" at times I am reminded of Isaiah 40 31 (click here to view) You notice that the scripture says first you fly, then you run, and lastly you walk. As Christians we love to "fly" be we will honestly find ourselves mostly just "walking." Is that a bad thing? No. It is just day in and day out walking with Christ, reaching people, loving people, going to school, sleeping, eating, working, etc. And you are sometimes just putting your hand in Jesus's hand and saying "Lord, let's walk." And everything you do is Christ centered. God said it. I'm ok with just "walking."

>> listening to Rob Bell right now and he's talking about what the "Gospel is". he said this," this message is not about who you arent, it's about who Christ is; and Christ is hope. If the message does not at its core resound with hope, than Jesus isn't in it, because His message, at its core, is about hope, its not about telling you who you arent its about reminding you of who Christ is, and Christ is hope."
....chew on that
